Mohan Bhagwat : 'India's identity should be of moral leadership, not just power', Mohan Bhagwat's clear opinion
The Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, has presented an important and visionary perspective on India's global role. He advised the central government that India should not get caught in the race to become a 'superpower', but should play the role of a 'world teacher' guiding the world. Commenting on international politics, trade agreements, and global pressures, Bhagwat firmly stated that India should maintain an independent policy based on its values.
Mohan Bhagwat said that India's identity is not limited to just economic or military power, but true strength lies in leadership based on morality, harmony, coexistence, and human values. He clarified that as conflicts, wars, and instability increase worldwide, India should show the path of peace, dialogue, and balance, which is the role of a world leader.
Trade agreements should be according to India's terms
While speaking about international trade agreements, the head of the organization expressed a clear stance. He stated that India should not enter into trade agreements under the pressure of any country. He firmly insisted that agreements that harm the interests of Indian farmers, small industries, local industries, and workers should not be accepted. “Trade agreements should be made considering India's needs, interests, and long-term benefits. Making decisions under pressure or for immediate gains will not be in the national interest,” he expressed.
Autonomy is important in international relations
Mohan Bhagwat also expressed his views on India's foreign policy. He stated that India should implement an independent and self-respecting foreign policy without blindly following any group. His advice is that India should make decisions based on its national interests without succumbing to the pressure of superpowers like the USA, Europe, China, or others. According to him, India is the country with the oldest culture in the world, and the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” has been given to the world by India. Therefore, India's leadership should not be dominating but rather guiding and coordinating.
Strategic Message for the Government
This statement by the Sarsanghchalak is being viewed not just as an ideological presentation, but as a strategic guiding message. In the current changing global scenario, he has clearly outlined what India's role should be. While it is necessary for India to become economically capable, he emphasized that moral leadership and self-reliance are equally important. Mohan Bhagwat's statement is likely to spark new discussions about India's role both domestically and internationally.
