While speaking to media representatives, Bawankule provided this information. While giving this information, he thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. There had been a demand from the people of Islampur Municipality for quite some time. The opinion of the people there was that the name of Islampur should be changed to Ishwarpur. Now, according to this opinion, the name of Islampur has been changed to Ishwarpur, said Bawankule.

Gopichand Padalkar had demanded in the legislative assembly that the name of Islampur city be changed to Ishwarpur. Subsequently, the Maharashtra government had sent a proposal to the Union Home Department regarding the name change of this city. This proposal has now been approved, Bawankule informed at this time. Therefore, he also expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
