ISRO: ISRO's 10 satellites will monitor Pakistan's movements
In a significant move to strengthen national security, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan has revealed that 10 Indian satellites are currently monitoring Pakistan’s movements round the clock. The announcement highlights India's growing space-based surveillance capabilities aimed at ensuring border safety and national security.
Speaking at an event held at the Agricultural University, Narayanan emphasized the critical role of satellite technology in modern defense. “To safeguard our country, it is essential to keep a close watch on Pakistan using satellites. We are actively working with 10 satellites dedicated to the safety of our citizens and the protection of our borders,” he stated.
In a further boost to India’s surveillance network, ISRO is set to launch a new satellite, RISAT-1B (also known as EOS-09), from the Sriharikota Space Center on May 18. This advanced radar imaging satellite will significantly enhance India's ability to monitor the borders with Pakistan and China.
RISAT-1B is equipped with cutting-edge radar technology that enables it to capture high-resolution images in all weather conditions, day or night. This capability will greatly aid in detecting suspicious activities and monitoring terrorist movements along hostile terrains.
With the deployment of these satellites, India is strengthening its space-based intelligence and reinforcing its ability to respond proactively to security threats. Narayanan assured the public that ISRO’s efforts are directed at ensuring that every citizen of the country remains safe.
