Kirit Somaiya Alleges Major Scam Involving Illegal Bangladeshi Citizens in Marathwada; Demands SIT Probe
Speaking to the media, Somaiya said he had a detailed meeting with the Inspector General of Police and had submitted evidence related to illegal infiltration and document forgery to the local police administration.
1,100 Fake Birth Certificates in Sillod?
Somaiya alleged that SDM Latif Pathan of Sillod has issued nearly 2,500 birth certificates, out of which 1,100 are allegedly bogus.
"In some cases, birth certificates were issued solely on the basis of Aadhaar cards, without any supporting documentation. This is a serious breach of administrative protocol," Somaiya said.
He has demanded immediate suspension and investigation of Latif Pathan for his alleged role in facilitating illegal identity documentation.
Bogus Document Scam in Municipal Corporation
Somaiya further claimed that the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation is also embroiled in a major document forgery scandal. Of the 2,500 applications processed by sub-divisional officers, he claimed many lacked the required supporting documents.
Most notably, Somaiya alleged that 22,000 official documents are missing from records in Sillod alone and called for a high-level inquiry into the matter.
Possible Political Conspiracy?
Raising concerns about political involvement, Somaiya suggested that a deliberate conspiracy is underway to turn Sillod into another Malegaon, referencing demographic shifts driven by alleged illegal settlement.
“If any political leaders are found to be complicit in this conspiracy, they will not be spared. We demand accountability,” he warned.
He also called for the establishment of detection centers across the state and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) similar to the one operational in Malegaon.
‘Vote Jihad’ Allegations and Warning to Supporters of Illegal Infiltrators
Somaiya further alleged that certain political leaders and their supporters are enabling 'vote jihad' by helping illegal residents secure documents to influence electoral outcomes.
"Those helping illegal infiltrators secure fake documents for voting purposes will also face strict legal consequences," he stated.
Somaiya reaffirmed the BJP’s stance on cracking down on illegal immigration and warned that officials aiding or ignoring such activities will be held accountable.
This explosive set of allegations has stirred political tensions in the region, and all eyes are now on the state government and law enforcement agencies to act on the claims and initiate investigations.
