Ladki Bahin Yojana: Shocking Revelation in Solapur – Where Are the 10,000 Women?
In Brief
A shocking revelation has been made in the Ladki Bahin scheme.
A maximum of two women from a family can benefit.
However, in reality, thousands of women applied ignoring these criteria.
During the verification of the Chief Minister's Mazi Ladki Bahin scheme, several irregularities have been uncovered in the Solapur district. According to the rules set for this scheme, women aged 21 to 65 and a maximum of two women from a family can benefit. However, in reality, thousands of women applied ignoring these criteria. It was found that in some families, three to four women submitted applications, and after verification, such applicants have been disqualified.
According to the district report, a total of 83,722 women were deemed eligible, while 14,000 applications were rejected for various reasons. The most serious issue is that the whereabouts of as many as 10,000 women could not be found at the given address. It was revealed that they had either provided incorrect addresses when applying or were not actually residing at those locations. Looking at the statistics across the state, it has become clear that the number of such women exceeds four lakhs.
Additionally, a major problem has arisen due to incorrect Aadhaar numbers being entered. Funds for many beneficiaries were deposited into incorrect accounts, while some eligible women did not receive even a single rupee. As a result, the administration is faced with the challenge of recovering the mistakenly deposited benefits and transferring them to the correct accounts.
However, the government has clarified that married daughters or daughters-in-law who have a separate ration card in their name will continue to receive benefits. The government has assured women that their rightful benefits will not be stopped under any circumstances.
