The ST Corporation is ready for the Holi and Shimga festivals, celebrated with enthusiasm in Konkan, similar to Ganeshotsav. Known as ‘Lalpari’, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has planned a total of 198 additional trips anticipating the increased passenger crowd. Under the ‘Holi Special Operation 2026’, these special trips will be operated from Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad divisions.

From February 27 to March 5, these additional buses will run towards Konkan. As every year, this year too, a large number of workers and families are expected to go to their hometowns for the Holi festival, so the ST administration has taken planned steps. Especially on February 28 and March 1, the highest crowd is expected, with 91 and 59 trips to be operated respectively.

Department-wise Round Planning 79 additional rounds have been planned from the Thane division, of which 71 rounds are fully booked due to advance reservations. 62 rounds will be operated from the Mumbai division, of which 37 rounds are booked by reservation, while 25 rounds are kept available for group bookings. 24 rounds from the Palghar division will be operated entirely through group bookings. 33 rounds from the Raigad division will be dedicated to reserved passengers.

Special Service from Bhayandar, Thane, Panvel On the occasion of Holi and Shimga festivals, special ST bus service has been started from Bhayandar, Thane, and Panvel to Kavalegaon from March 1 to 10. Online reservation facility is available, allowing passengers to book tickets conveniently. Reservations can be made by typing Bydr To Kag for Bhayandar to Kavalegaon, Thncbs-Thane To Kag for Thane CBS to Kavalegaon, and Pnl To Kag for Panvel to Kavalegaon. Vinod Yerunkar, President of the Indian Insurance Employees Union, Mumbai Regional Office 3, and General Secretary of Shri Devi Kalkai Temple Renovation Committee, has appealed to the employees to take advantage of this special bus service. He mentioned that ST is a reliable option for safe, timely, and affordable travel.

Instructions for Passengers

Passengers are advised to make advance reservations to avoid crowds, be present at the bus station on time, and follow safety rules during the journey, as appealed by the ST administration. Due to the expected increase in the number of people traveling to Konkan during Holi, the administration has arranged for additional staff and buses. Overall, this special run of 'Lalpari' for the Holi festival is good news for the people of Konkan.
