According to the Supreme Court, instructions have been given to hold elections soon, and voting for the elections of 246 municipal councils and 42 municipal panchayats in the state will take place on December 2, with the results to be announced on December 3. Elections will be held for 246 municipal councils and 42 municipal panchayats. From this, 6,859 members and 288 presidents will be elected.
Among the 246 municipal councils where elections will be held, 10 new municipal councils are included. Along with this, elections are being held for 42 municipal panchayats. During this period, 15 new municipal panchayats are included, and the term of 105 municipal panchayats has not yet expired. Additionally, the election will be held using a multi-member system in the panchayat. In the municipal council, there are three seats in a ward with an odd number. Municipal councils will also have to vote for one mayoral position.
