Holiday Declared for Schools in Latur District Today Due to Heavy Rains in Latur District... : It has been raining heavily for the past few days. The intensity of the rain continues across the state, and the weather department has issued warnings for various districts. It is observed that the rain has made a significant presence in most parts of the state. In many places, rivers and streams are overflowing due to heavy rain. It is predicted that the intensity of the rain will increase further in the next three to four days. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Konkan and Vidarbha as well.

Due to the heavy rain that started last night in Latur district, excessive rainfall has been recorded in 29 out of 60 revenue circles. Because of this rain, the water levels of rivers and streams have risen, causing water to flow over roads and bridges, resulting in the closure of traffic on nearly 49 roads. Considering the possibility of continued heavy rain tomorrow, the weather department has issued a yellow alert.

Therefore, for the safety of students, a holiday has been declared today for all schools from grades one to twelve of all mediums and managements in the district, as per the instructions of District Collector and District Disaster Management Authority Chairperson Varsha Thakur-Ghuge, according to the information provided by the District Council's Primary and Secondary Education Department.
