An earthquake occurred off the coast of Cebu City in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines (Philippines Earthquake) around 10 PM on Tuesday night. It caused damage to buildings and injured several people due to falling debris, officials said. They also informed that the epicenter was about 17 kilometers northeast of the coastal city of Bogo, which has a population of approximately 90,000.

Fire Chief Ray Canet said that the strong tremors have damaged the concrete walls of houses and the fire station. The city's power was cut off and deep cracks appeared on the asphalt roads. He mentioned that he and his fellow firefighters provided first aid to at least three residents injured by the debris and fallen walls, including an elderly person with a head injury, whom they took to a nearby hospital. He said that the severe tremors might have caused more injuries.
