On Thursday, October 23, an incident of suicide by a female doctor at the Phaltan sub-district hospital in Satara has come to light. The name of the female doctor is Dr. Sampada Munde, and she had been entangled in disputes with the police and health department for a few months. She had also complained to her superiors saying, 'I am being wronged, I will commit suicide.' The incident of the female doctor's suicide in Phaltan taluka has shaken the entire Satara district.
On Saturday, October 25, after 8 hours, Dr. Sampada Munde was cremated late at night in Kavadgaon Budruk village of Wadwani taluka. Meanwhile, the main accused in the Satara doctor suicide case, Prashant Bankar and Gopal Badne, were absconding. Prashant Bankar was arrested on Saturday, October 25, that is, yesterday at 4 am, and he was hiding at a friend's farmhouse.
The police have handcuffed him. He has been accused of physical and mental harassment. A major update has just come to light. In this case, another main accused, Gopal Badne, has finally surrendered to the police. After the Satara female doctor suicide case, accused Gopal Badne had been absconding for two days.
He surrendered to the police voluntarily around 12:30 to 1:30 AM on Saturday midnight. A direct accusation was made against Gopal Badne for assault. Before surrendering, it was reported that the last location of the accused Gopal Badne was Pandharpur, and he has now absconded from Pandharpur as well.
Since today is Sunday, it is not yet officially confirmed whether he will be presented in the district sessions court. However, currently, Gopal Badne is in the custody of Phaltan police, and his interrogation will continue throughout the day. In the Satara doctor suicide case, both suspects are now in police custody, and this case has reached a turning point.
