In the backdrop of municipal elections, while the voting process is underway in the state, complaints of irregularities are emerging in some places. Taking serious note of one such complaint, the Chairperson of the State Women's Commission, Rupali Chakankar, has taken the initiative for direct action. Based on information received regarding the alleged 'liquid' incident at a booth of a BJP candidate, Rupali Chakankar visited the booth with the police and questioned those involved.

Complaints had been received regarding irregularities with the ink applied on the finger during the voting process. It was suspected that attempts were being made to erase the ink and vote again in some places. Against this backdrop, Rupali Chakankar personally visited the concerned booth to inspect the situation. During this time, she discussed with police officers and clearly stated, “No irregularities in the voting process will be tolerated. Immediate action should be taken against those attempting to erase the ink or liquid on the finger and vote again.” She instructed the police to take a strict stance in such cases.

Rupali Chakankar stated that voting is the backbone of democracy, and transparency and integrity are extremely important in it. If some people attempt to misuse the voting process, it is a direct attack on democracy, she noted. Therefore, it is necessary to curb such practices in time. She further mentioned that as a women's commission, we are not limited to women's issues alone, but we are vigilant to ensure that the voting rights of every citizen in society remain secure. During the election period, it is the responsibility of the administration and police machinery to ensure that all voters, including women, can vote in a fear-free environment.

Meanwhile, after this action, a tense atmosphere was created at the concerned booth for some time. However, the police brought the situation under control and continued all processes smoothly. Voting is being conducted according to the guidelines of the Election Commission, and a strict watch is being kept on suspicious matters. After this incident, citizens are demanding that such complaints be taken seriously in other parts of the state as well. The administration is being urged to remain more vigilant to maintain transparency in the voting process.
