MNS: Major setback for MNS on the eve of municipal elections; Two major leaders bid farewell to MNS
As preparations for the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation elections are underway, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has suffered a major setback. The party has faced a significant loss in this area as two women office-bearers, considered important, and their supporters have left the party simultaneously. Manda Patil from Dombivli and Kasturi Desai from Kalyan have resigned, and Kasturi Desai's husband and MNS leader Kaustubh Desai have also severed ties with the party.
Manda Patil, known as the aggressive face of the party in Dombivli, expressed dissatisfaction with the internal affairs of the party and resigned. She said that while a family event was going on at home, she learned through social media that someone else was appointed as the city president instead of her. She was hurt by the decision made without any prior notice or discussion. She maintained the party in Dombivli under very difficult circumstances for many years. Even after electoral failures, she remained loyal to the party, but now she had to make this decision due to the lack of response from senior leaders.
Meanwhile, Kaustubh Desai, who was active for MNS in Kalyan, and women's city president Kasturi Desai have also bid farewell to the party. They clarified that there were difficulties in working for the people while staying in the party. It was becoming difficult to obtain funds for development work. The Desai couple stated that they are leaving the party to resolve the issues of the citizens in the ward and to make appropriate decisions in the backdrop of upcoming elections. They also clarified that they have been in contact with BJP and Shiv Sena, and a decision regarding their future political journey will be announced soon.
