The competitive exam candidates in the state, who are upset by the decisions of the MPSC and are uncertain about their future, have finally taken to the streets and expressed their displeasure. Hundreds of students preparing for the competitive exams sat on a two-hour sit-in protest at Kranti Chowk in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on Monday to express their displeasure. The students gave a clear warning that "the agitation will not be called off unless our demands are met," and shouted slogans against the government.

Uncertainty created by postponing exams

The State Services Main Examination conducted by MPSC has been postponed after the notification. This has thrown the plans of the students who have been preparing for the past several months into disarray. The students, who are under mental stress due to the uncertainty of the exam date, have strongly demanded through the agitation that the exam should be conducted within 45 days of the notification.

Strong demand for increase in gazetted posts

The protesting students have not only demanded a change in the exam schedule but also an increase in the number of posts in the recruitment process for PSI (Police Sub-Inspector), STI (State Tax Inspector), ASO (Assistant Cell Officer) and SR (Senior Clerk). These posts are the dream of millions of students, and the competition has increased tremendously due to limited seats. Therefore, the need for more posts is being felt strongly to provide opportunities to the candidates.

Strong discontent against the government, slogans echoed in the area

During the protest, the students raised slogans against the government's delay. "Stop the injustice against students", "Conduct MPSC exams on time", "Our demands must be accepted" echoed in the Kranti Chowk area. At this time, the students registered their protest peacefully and also submitted a memorandum to the administration.

The government must listen now: Protesters

The frequent changes in the schedule of competitive exams, shortage of seats, and lack of transparency are increasing the discontent of the competitive exam candidates towards the government. The students in the protest say, "Despite years of hard work, dark shadows are falling on their careers as the exams are not being held on time. We will not stop now, we will not withdraw the protest until our demands are met."
