Cold wave alert : Mumbaikars shiver, Mumbai's temperature drops to 17 degrees

The intensity of cold has increased in Mumbai. On Sunday, the city's temperature dropped directly to 17 degrees. There was a significant drop of four degrees below the average minimum temperature. As a result, Mumbaikars felt quite chilly on the holiday morning. Throughout the day, the weather remained as cool as Matheran. The rest of the state also experienced severe cold, and the weather department has predicted that the intensity of cold will remain high for another week.
Since last week, there has been a change in Mumbai's weather. For the past four to five days, the city's minimum temperature has been recorded below 20 degrees. On Sunday, there was a record drop for this season, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.8 degrees in Santacruz. At the same time, the temperature in Colaba was 22.3 degrees. Additionally, in Powai it was 19 degrees, Mulund 17 degrees, Chembur 17 degrees, Borivali 17 degrees, Worli -19 degrees, thus in most parts of the city, the minimum temperature was recorded three to four degrees below average. The weather department has predicted that the minimum temperature in the city will be 16 degrees on Monday. Mumbai's temperature is close to the temperature recorded in Matheran, a hill station. On Sunday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.8 degrees in Matheran, 16.9 degrees in Dahanu, and 20 degrees in Thane city.
The cold has significantly increased in the rural areas of the state. The minimum temperature in many districts has dropped to the level of 10 to 12 degrees. Mahabaleshwar, Malegaon, Jalgaon, Nanded, Parbhani, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, etc., recorded 11 degrees, while Ahilyanagar, Pune, Baramati, etc., saw the mercury drop directly to 10 degrees. Due to this drop in temperature, the rural residents are shivering.

Due to the current dry weather and the persistent influence of cold northern winds, the cold is likely to remain intense in most parts of Maharashtra for the next two to three days. The drop in minimum temperature will continue in some parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada as well. Although it will be sunny during the day, the cold will be more noticeable at night and early morning.
