Mumbai: NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar has sharply criticized the central government over the government inquiry that arose after the plane crash of the late Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He has demanded the immediate resignation of Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjaraapu Ramamohan Naidu in a letter sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Allegation of discrepancies in DGCA report

Rohit Pawar has alleged serious discrepancies in the preliminary report published by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) after the plane crash and the subsequent special safety audit report. The initial report stated that VSR Ventures' Learjet aircraft was sufficiently safe, but the later special safety audit found non-compliances in areas such as Airworthiness, Air Safety, and Flight Operations. “These discrepancies were revealed only after the DGCA gave a clean chit on January 28. Who provided the recognized document for the aircraft to fly? Who takes responsibility for this? This is a resounding question,” alleged Pawar.

Resignation and Demand for Justice

Rohit Pawar, through a letter, has accused Union Minister Naidu of political and personal connections and potential links with the VSR company. This has raised questions about the possibility of the investigation being independent, impartial, and honest, he claims. Pawar has also demanded a CBI investigation and strict action against the guilty in the letter. Furthermore, he clarified, "This struggle will continue until a completely impartial investigation and justice are achieved."

Complaint filed with police

Against this backdrop, Rohit Pawar arrived at the Marine Lines police station today and attempted to file a complaint (FIR) against DGCA and VSR Ventures. However, he has alleged that the police created obstacles in registering the FIR.

Growing Concerns Over Discrepancies

After a special security audit, the DGCA has temporarily grounded four Learjet aircraft of the controversial company. This step has been taken to ensure compliance with safety regulations, but Pawar considers this measure insufficient and demands action against the entire company. Discussions and pressure are increasing at political and social levels. The progress of this case and the response to the investigation will be crucial for flight safety, ethics, and public trust in the state.
