Naxalism : 'Naxals from Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh to Surrender', Naxalites Call for Peace Talks with the Government
Shocking information that could significantly alter the Maoist movement has come to light. Anant, the spokesperson for the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh (MMC) Special Zonal Committee, has made a serious claim that the MMC is ready to surrender. This claim could provide a new direction to the changing dynamics within Maoist organizations over the past few months.
A statement issued in the name of the Chief Minister was read out over the phone to a journalist in Chhattisgarh. It was made after the surrender of Central Committee member Sonudada alias Bhupati, who appealed to the Maoists. Bhupati had issued a video from Gadchiroli, calling for an end to the armed struggle. In response, spokesperson Anant claimed that the MMC Committee is also ready to surrender, but requested time until February 15, 2026, to discuss with everyone. He appealed to the Chief Ministers of all three states to halt the anti-Naxal campaign until then.
Impact of Bhupati's Surrender?
A few days ago, Maoist Central Committee member Sonudada alias Bhupati took a shocking step by surrendering. While releasing a video from Gadchiroli, Bhupati appealed to Maoist activists to “abandon armed struggle and live a life for society.” Following this appeal, there was intense discussion about internal changes beginning in the Maoist movement. This is now reflected in the statement of the MMC Committee.
