Pahalgam attack: Unfortunate death of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal
Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a 26-year-old Indian Navy soldier from Karnal, Haryana, died in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The photo of his wife Himanshi sitting in a helpless state with his body is heartbreaking. They got married on April 16, went to Kashmir for honeymoon on April 21, and died in a cowardly attack by terrorists on April 22. Himanshi, who dreamed of a happy life, broke down during Vinay's last darshan. Her voice was heartbreaking to those present there.
Less than a week after the wedding, she found herself hugging her husband's coffin, crying uncontrollably and needing help to recover from her grief. But then she stood up straight and bid him farewell, shouting "Jai Hind".
Vinay and Himanshi were eating 'Bhelpuri' in the picturesque pastures of Baisran near Pahalgam when a terrorist shot Lieutenant Narwal in the head. In a video on Tuesday, Himanshi can be heard saying, "While we were eating Bhelpuri, a man came and shot my husband."
On Wednesday, Lieutenant Narwal's body was brought to Delhi in a coffin and Himanshi stood next to him. "I pray that his soul rests in peace... let's make him proud in every way," she said, stopping to hug the coffin and crying. "The world is still standing because of him. We should all be proud of him in every way... in every way," Himanshi said. Narwal, who joined the Navy two years ago and was stationed in Kochi, was among the 26 people who died in the terrorist attack in Baisaran.
