Technology Accelerates Devotion! Online Token System Launched for Pandharpur Darshan
As the revered Ashadhi Wari 2025 begins, palkhis (palanquins) from various districts across Maharashtra have commenced their spiritual journey. Many Warkaris (devotees) have already reached Pandharpur, seeking the blessings of Lord Vithuraya even before the main procession arrives. To streamline the darshan experience and manage the heavy influx of devotees during this sacred period, a new online token system has been introduced for the very first time.
According to H.B.P. Gahininath Maharaj Ausekar, “The token system is currently in its early phase. We are closely monitoring its implementation and will make improvements as necessary.” The initiative aims to reduce waiting times and provide a smoother darshan experience to all devotees.
When Lokshahi Marathi spoke with several Warkaris, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. One devotee shared, “Earlier, we had to wait in queues for 8 to 10 hours for darshan. Now, because of the online token system, we are able to get darshan within just a few hours. This is a big relief.”
The darshan is now scheduled in six slots throughout the day, which is helping to significantly ease the crowd pressure. The system has proved particularly beneficial for senior citizens, women, children, and differently-abled devotees, ensuring a more comfortable and spiritual experience.
Organizers are confident that the online token system will enhance the sanctity and accessibility of the pilgrimage. The temple trust has urged all devotees to book their tokens in advance through the online portal. This facility is available only until June 26, after which the darshan will proceed through the traditional queue system.
