The Pink e-rickshaw distribution ceremony was held in Nagpur district today, Sunday, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare was present on this occasion. This initiative is being implemented under the Pink e-rickshaw scheme of the Maharashtra government, and the aim is to empower women by providing them with e-rickshaws for self-employment.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave a commitment to women empowerment and social justice on this occasion. He said, "Under this scheme, women are being given self-employment opportunities. Due to which women will get the opportunity to become financially independent. Women will feel safe while traveling. Expressing his views on this occasion, the Chief Minister encouraged women to take advantage of the beneficial opportunities available under this scheme. He also expressed his belief that this initiative will improve the economic condition of women in the society," he said.

These pink e-rickshaws will be available to passengers outside the metro station in Nagpur. Moreover, these rickshaws will be available at various tourist places in Maharashtra, the Chief Minister said on this occasion. He also expressed confidence that passengers will feel safe while traveling as women rickshaw pullers. During this program, in the first phase, 2000 pink e-rickshaws were distributed to women in Nagpur division today.

What exactly is the state government's Pink E-rickshaw scheme?

The "Pink E-Rickshaw" scheme in Maharashtra is to make women self-reliant by providing financial assistance. The aim of this scheme is to empower women, increase self-reliance and create secure employment. Only women are eligible. The age of the women applying should be between 20 and 40 years. The annual family income should not exceed 3 lakhs. Women should have a valid driving license. Should be physically able to drive an e-rickshaw. Women should be permanent residents of the state of Maharashtra. Women should have a bank account. Should not have benefited from any other schemes. Preference is given to widows, widowed/married women, orphaned women and women from poor families. The total cost of the e-rickshaw is 4 lakhs. The beneficiary has to contribute 10%, which is 12,300. The state government will provide 20% subsidy, which is up to 80,000. Bank loans up to 2.8 lakhs can be availed. The loan will be repaid over a period of 5 years. The e-rickshaw will come with 10 HP power. The range of this vehicle will be 110 km per charge. The seating capacity of the vehicle will be 3 plus 1. Application can be made online. Application will have to be filled on the website of the Women and Child Welfare Department. Required documents like Aadhar card, address proof, PAN card, bank account details, driving license will be required in the application process. Applications will be scrutinized for selection.
