There is a nationwide stir after the car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening. 9 people have died in this explosion and 20 people have been injured. Preliminary investigations suggest that this might be a terrorist attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a tour of Bhutan, reacted to this incident. While addressing a public meeting in Thimphu, he said, “I have come here today with a heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi last evening has saddened everyone. We will not spare those behind this explosion, those who have conspired this.” Modi said, “The investigation is underway. We will go to the end of the investigation. Strict action will be taken against those responsible. I have been in contact with the investigative agencies since last night.”

The Prime Minister expressed condolences to the affected families, saying, “The entire nation stands with them. The government is investigating every aspect.” Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a press conference in New Delhi and stated, “The investigation agencies are examining all angles. Action will be taken once the report is received. No guilty party will be spared.”

Following the explosion, security has been increased in major cities across the country, including Delhi. The NIA and a special investigation team of the Delhi Police are active at the scene, examining CCTV footage and the movements of suspicious vehicles.
