Sanjay Raut: Political atmosphere in Maharashtra heats up after Ajit Pawar's death; Sanjay Raut attacks BJP
After the demise of the state's late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the political atmosphere in Maharashtra has heated up further. On one hand, various speculations are being made about his death, while on the other hand, questions are being raised about the relations between the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) and the BJP. In this situation, Shiv Sena Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut has launched a strong attack on the BJP and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
While speaking at the press conference, Sanjay Raut directly accused that Ajit Pawar's party is no longer in a position to make independent decisions. "Ajit Dada's party has become 100 percent a slave to Amit Shah," he stated clearly.
Sanjay Raut said that Ajit Pawar himself was the leader of his party and had decided to go with the BJP of his own will. However, Ajit Pawar realized that the BJP is not a party of Maharashtra's ideology. It is not always the case that discussions happen on every issue with Devendra Fadnavis. If Ajit Pawar did not discuss certain issues with Fadnavis, it means he did not trust him, Raut also indicated.
“If Ajit Pawar is considering returning home, then what was the need to discuss it with Fadnavis?” he also raised this question. Fadnavis's party is working against the interests of Maharashtra, and BJP is in favor of separating Mumbai from Maharashtra, Raut made this serious allegation.
Sanjay Raut further said that everyone knew that a leader like Ajit Pawar could not compromise with such an ideology for long. Discussions were also ongoing with Thackeray group's leaders along with Ajit Pawar. Many were aware that movements were underway between both parties regarding 'returning to the mainstream'.
“Today, Dada is not with us, so do not settle political scores in his name. Do not attempt to tear bills in his name,” warned Sanjay Raut. Finally, he once again firmly stated that, at present, Ajit Pawar's party is completely under Amit Shah's control and has lost its independent political existence.
