Prashant Koratkar Released on Bail, Departs for Mumbai
Prashant Koratkar, who was arrested for allegedly insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and for issuing threats to noted history researcher Indrajit Sawant, has been granted bail and released from Kalamba Jail.
According to Senior Superintendent Nagnath Sawant, Koratkar was removed from the jail’s egg cell at approximately 2:15 PM today and was subsequently handed over to the police, in accordance with the directives issued by the court.
Koratkar’s arrest had sparked widespread outrage due to the sensitive nature of the allegations involving Maharashtra’s revered historical figures. His release now comes after fulfilling the bail conditions set by the court.
Following his release, Koratkar reportedly left for Mumbai, escorted by police authorities.
