Pune-Mumbai Ganpati Visarjan 2025: Record Enthusiasm Marks Anant Chaturdashi Celebrations
The conclusion of Ganesh immersion on Anant Chaturdashi was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state, including Mumbai and Pune. The ten-day festival ended with devotion and jubilation. This year, the immersion processions in Mumbai and Pune broke records. In Pune, the procession continued for more than 30 hours, while in Mumbai, a sea of devotees gathered at Girgaon Chowpatty and various other places.
Even though there were showers in Mumbai, the enthusiasm of the devotees remained undiminished. A total of 36,632 Ganesh idols were immersed in the city. This included 5,855 public Ganesh mandals and 30,468 household Ganpatis. However, in some places, accidents occurred, slightly dampening the joy.
The procession in Pune started at 9:30 AM and continued for almost a day and a half. The immersion of all five revered Ganpatis was completed as scheduled. The immersion of the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati took place late at night. The 35-foot tall whale erected by the Shanipar Mandal was a special attraction of this year's procession.
