Pune Rain Update: Heavy Rains Lash Daund, Disrupt Normal Life

Flood situation in Swami Chincholi, water entered eight to ten houses

Heavy pre-monsoon showers pounded the Daund taluka of Pune district on Saturday, severely disrupting daily life. Traffic along the Pune–Solapur National Highway came to a standstill after rainwater flooded the Swami Chincholi area.

Patrolling officers from the Patas Toll Plaza, along with local residents and the police, are working to manage the situation and restore normal traffic movement. However, persistent rainfall since early morning has caused the service roads in the area to become completely submerged.

In Swami Chincholi village, eight to ten houses were inundated, forcing residents to evacuate. Essential infrastructure has also been affected, with both the Primary Health Center and the Talathi office under water. The village is currently without electricity, plunging the area into darkness.

Affected residents have been temporarily relocated to the homes of relatives within the village, as authorities continue relief efforts.
