In Thane, the returning rains have made a strong presence, with continuous drizzle in many areas since morning. Against this backdrop, the Meteorological Department has issued a 'Yellow Alert' for the entire Vidarbha for the next 48 hours. On Friday, many places in the state experienced heavy rainfall. Following this, the weather department has predicted rain for the next two days as well. A yellow alert has been issued for Marathwada and North Maharashtra, including Mumbai. Additionally, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many districts. However, the weather is expected to remain dry in Vidarbha. The heavy rains immediately after Diwali have disrupted daily life.
A low-pressure area has currently formed over the Arabian Sea. This area will move northward over the next four days. As a result, there could be heavy rain in the Konkan coastal areas, the Ghats region, and some districts of central Maharashtra. On the other hand, a low-pressure area has also formed in the southeast Bay of Bengal. When the impact of these two low-pressure areas decreases, the weather in the state will become dry, according to the meteorological department.
The missing rain has returned
In the last two months, there was a flood situation across Maharashtra, including Marathwada. Many animals perished, and homes were submerged. There was significant destruction. Just as people were recovering from the damage, citizens are frustrated again due to warnings of unseasonal rain. Now, it has rained in districts including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Nanded, and Dharashiv in Marathwada.
