There is a possibility of rain returning to the state once again. After intermittent showers over the past few days, the weather department has issued a warning of rain with thunderstorms in Konkan, central Maharashtra, and Vidarbha for the next two to three days. Meanwhile, a cyclone named 'Montha' has formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal and is currently moving northwest. According to the weather department's forecast, Montha is expected to reach the east-central part of the Bay by Tuesday and move towards the coast of Andhra Pradesh. Due to the impact of this system, heavy rain is likely in some parts of Vidarbha. However, the weather department has clarified that this cyclone will not have a direct impact on Maharashtra.

Due to the formation of a low-pressure area in the east-central Arabian Sea, a conducive environment for rain has been created in the state. As a result, cloudy weather is expected from the Konkan coast to Vidarbha, with intermittent showers predicted.

Areas with rain warnings:

There is a possibility of heavy rain in Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli, while cloudy weather with light showers is expected in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Nanded, Hingoli, and Beed districts. Rain with thunderstorms is predicted in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Pune, Ahmednagar, Satara, and Kolhapur districts.

On Monday, rain also made an appearance in Mumbai around the evening. Showers fell in areas like Fort, Dadar, Worli, Parel, Ghatkopar, Andheri, and Borivali. After a day of heat, this rain provided some relief. According to the Meteorological Department, on Monday, the maximum temperature recorded at the Colaba center was 31.2 degrees Celsius, while at the Santacruz center, it was 33.5 degrees Celsius. Before 'Montha', 'Shakti' was the first cyclone of the year that formed near the coast of Gujarat and Pakistan. Now, once again, a cyclone has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Last November, the 'Fengal' cyclone had impacted the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The state is currently experiencing changing weather conditions, and there is a possibility of rain showers continuing for the next few days. The administration has appealed to citizens to pay attention to the weather department's instructions and take necessary precautions.
