While the 12th board exams in the state started on February 10, the state government's 'Copy-Free Exam Campaign' faced a setback on the very first day. CCTV footage has revealed that students were openly provided with copies at some exam centers, causing intense anger among parents and citizens.

Notably, evidence has emerged that the officials and supervisors at the exam centers themselves were providing copies to the students. Schools were instructed to install CCTV for the exam process, provide water and other facilities, and ensure buses arrived on time. Despite this, irregularities at some centers have tarnished the image of the education department.

Against this backdrop, School Education Minister Dada Bhuse has taken a firm stance. The recognition of centers where incidents of copying have been found will be canceled. Action will be taken against the concerned center heads, supervisors, as well as the students who copied, and if necessary, against the parents too, he clarified. He also warned, “No compromise will be tolerated in the Copy-Free Exam Campaign.”

Meanwhile, in some districts of Marathwada, incidents of copying have been revealed on a large scale. A major malpractice was uncovered during the English paper at the National Higher Secondary School, Jaitapur, in Kannad Taluka of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Based on CCTV footage and Xerox copies of answer sheets, strict action has been proposed against as many as 19 people.

As per the orders of District Collector Dilip Swami, Chief Executive Officer Ankit, and Divisional Board President Anil Sable, an investigation was conducted. The flying squad led by Education Officer (Secondary) Ashwini Lathkar has completed the entire inquiry. Suspension proposals have been filed against district council employees, and internal disciplinary and legal actions have been directed against other related parties. This incident has caused a stir in the education sector, and the administration has indicated stricter supervision in the upcoming examination session.
