Parth Pawar, son of Ajit Pawar, has found himself in trouble over the controversial land deal in Mundhwa, Pune. For the past two days, this issue has caused a major stir in the state's political circles. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had announced the cancellation of this controversial deal himself. However, the Revenue Department has now clarified that legal rules also apply to the cancellation of the deal, and according to these rules, Parth Pawar will have to pay a hefty fine of 42 crore rupees. According to sources in the Revenue Department, a stamp duty of 21 crore rupees was initially paid for this deal. Now, since there is a demand to cancel this deal, the same amount of stamp duty has to be refunded according to the rules when canceling the deal. This means Parth Pawar will bear a total burden of 42 crore rupees.
The total price of this land transaction in Mundwa is said to be approximately 1800 crore rupees. However, since the transaction was recorded for a few crores, the entire matter has become controversial. After the issue came to light through the media, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule initiated an inquiry on his own. In the preliminary investigation, several irregularities were found, leading to the filing of charges against those involved. Against this backdrop, Ajit Pawar had announced that “this transaction is being canceled.” But the Revenue Department has clarified that “even to cancel any transaction, its legal process must be completed. Even if the transaction is canceled, the stamp duty is not refunded to prevent revenue loss to the state.”
This decision has posed financial difficulties for Parth Pawar and the company associated with him. The directives given by the Revenue Department have added a new twist to the case. Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated, “Criminal charges have been filed against all those involved in the Mundwa transaction case. No one involved in the sale and purchase will be spared. We have appointed a high-level committee to conduct a thorough investigation of this case. A report will be submitted within a month, and further action will be taken accordingly.”
This land deal in Pune has become the focal point of political discussion in Maharashtra over the past few days. Although Ajit Pawar has announced the cancellation of the deal to avoid controversy, the decision by the revenue department is now expected to cost Parth Pawar 42 crore rupees. It is anticipated that the repercussions of this matter may be felt in the state's politics in the coming period.
