Senior Congress leader on the path to BJP, resigns from primary membership
The Congress party has suffered another setback. There are currently talks that a major political earthquake is going on in Bhor. It has come to light that former MLA Sangram Thopte will leave the Congress and join the BJP. Former MLA of Bhor Sangram Thopte will leave the Congress and join the BJP. It has been reported that he will soon join the party in Mumbai. It is reported that Sangram Thopte will join the BJP on the initiative of a senior BJP leader.
It is learnt that he has also met Union Minister Amit Shah for this. Sangram Thopte has not yet resigned from the Congress. He will hold a meeting of the workers of Bhor taluka on Sunday, April 20. It is learnt that he will resign from the Congress membership after discussing with the workers at that time.
Why did you make the decision?
Thopte was often wronged by the Congress. The party elite ignored him. Apart from this, the Rajgad Cooperative Sugar Factory, of which Sangram Thopte is the president, is in trouble. The state government had approved a loan of Rs 80 crore for this factory. But Sangram Thopte helped Supriya Sule in the Lok Sabha. After that, the loan approved for his factory was rejected due to Ajit Pawar's opposition. After Nana Patole resigned from the post of Assembly Speaker after the 2019 Assembly elections, Sangram Thopte's name was in the lead for the post of President.
Thopte and Pawar family dispute:
There is an old political dispute between the Thopte family of Bhor and the Pawar family of Baramati. Sangram Thopte's father Anantrao Thopte is a strong and loyal leader of the Congress. He had a strong hold on Pune district. When his name was almost certain for the Chief Minister's post, Sharad Pawar defeated him in 1999 with his strength.
