Sanjay Raut Alleges Major Industrialist’s Home Built on Waqf Land in Mumbai; Accuses BJP of Misusing Hindutva for Political Gain

In a sensational political attack, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that a prominent industrialist's residence in Mumbai stands on Waqf land. Raut also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to seize Waqf Board properties under the pretext of governance and reform, linking the issue to a broader political agenda.

Speaking to reporters in Nashik on Sunday, Raut reacted strongly to the recently passed Waqf Amendment Bill in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, claiming that the BJP is deliberately stoking communal sentiment by linking old land issues to Hindutva.

“The BJP is spoiling the atmosphere by linking controversial matters with Hindutva,” said Raut.

"Grabbing Waqf Lands to Gift to Industrialists"

Raut went further, alleging a calculated plan by the BJP to transfer Waqf lands to industrialists, framing it as part of a larger pattern of land grab under political cover.

“Do you think Hindus are fools? The BJP wants to grab Waqf Board lands and hand them over to big industrialists. Public lands were already sold, and now the eye is on Waqf property. Sooner or later, these lands will be force-fed to BJP leaders and their business associates,” he stated.

Raut defended his criticism, asserting that he was being targeted for speaking the truth about what he called a deeper political conspiracy.

Criticism of Amit Shah and BJP's Direction

In a pointed critique of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Raut said:

“Amit Shah says mosques and madrasas won’t be touched until 2025, but vacant Waqf lands will be sold, and money will be given to poor Muslims. He’s now become a buyer and seller. Tomorrow, everyone's land will be up for sale.”

The Shiv Sena leader also questioned the ideological legitimacy of the current BJP, claiming that the party has deviated from its original values.

“The BJP was formed in front of our eyes. The original Shiv Sena predates it. It was created with a noble purpose, but today, those who founded it are in jail. This BJP is not the original BJP,” Raut said, referencing the imprisonment of leaders who once shaped the party's foundation.

Political Reactions Expected

Raut’s explosive statements come amid intensifying debates over the Waqf Amendment Bill and its implications on religious trust lands. His direct accusations—naming both political leaders and corporate interests—are expected to spark strong reactions from the BJP and other parties.

As the controversy unfolds, the spotlight remains firmly on the intersection of politics, religion, and real estate, making this a key issue in Maharashtra’s charged political atmosphere.
