Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut has made serious allegations against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming that attempts were made to influence him prior to his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Speaking to the media on Saturday, Raut revealed that he had received a call from Shinde just before the ED took him into custody. According to Raut, Shinde offered to speak to Home Minister Amit Shah on his behalf.

“Before I was arrested by the ED, I received a call from Eknath Shinde,” Raut stated. “He asked me, ‘Shall I speak to Amit Shah?’ I told him there was no need. I also made it very clear that even if he did talk to Shah, I would not join his party.” Raut further alleged that he personally called Amit Shah later that night. “I called Amit Shah at 11 p.m. and told him that my friend was being raided and my family was being harassed. I asked, ‘Is this being done on your orders?’ I told him, ‘If you want to arrest me, stop pretending that I’m simply at home in Delhi.’ Amit Shah replied that he had no knowledge of the matter,” Raut claimed.

These revelations come just a day after Raut made headlines for controversial remarks involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar in his new book ‘Narkatla Swarg’ (Heaven in the Hellfire). Raut’s allegations have intensified the already volatile political atmosphere in Maharashtra, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming elections. There has been no official response yet from Eknath Shinde or Amit Shah regarding these statements.
