Serious Accident on Yamuna Expressway Near Mathura; 13 Dead, Over 25 Injured
(Yamuna Expressway Accident) A very serious accident occurred early this morning on the Yamuna Expressway near the city of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. In this incident, 13 people have died and more than 25 passengers have been injured. Due to dense fog in the morning, visibility on the road was poor, leading to 8 buses and 3 cars colliding with each other on the way from Agra to Noida. The impact was so severe that some vehicles caught fire.
This incident occurred near Khadehra village, at the 127th kilometer, in the area of Baldev Police Station on the Agra-Noida highway. Upon receiving information about the accident, police, fire brigade, and administration teams promptly reached the scene. Rescue operations were swiftly initiated. Injured passengers have been taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for examination, and the administration has provided other vehicles to transport the remaining passengers to their destinations.

People who witnessed the accident said that the fog was so thick that nothing was visible on the road. Suddenly, vehicles collided one after another, and within minutes, some vehicles caught fire. Many passengers were trapped in the vehicles, while some recognized the situation and jumped out of the bus to save their lives. However, some passengers could not get out and were burnt to death in the fire. A passenger named Saurabh from Kanpur said, “Nothing was visible ahead. Suddenly there was a loud noise and the buses collided with each other. Shortly after, a fire broke out.”
Administration's Response
Mathura's District Magistrate Chandraprakash Singh has informed that 13 people have died in this accident. He stated that a major loss of life occurred due to the fire that broke out after the vehicles collided strongly. The Chief Minister has taken serious note of this incident and has ordered immediate treatment for the injured. Additionally, a decision has been made to provide financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees to each of the deceased's families. Due to this accident, traffic on the Yamuna Expressway was halted for some time, but after the rescue operation was completed, traffic was gradually restored.
