In the month of April, seven seats in the Rajya Sabha will become vacant, including the term of senior leader Sharad Pawar coming to an end. In this context, there are indications that he will contest the Rajya Sabha elections once again. Regarding this, Sanjay Raut made an important statement while speaking to the media. Raut said, “Some seats in the Rajya Sabha are becoming vacant in April. Considering the three parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi, it is possible for all three parties to field a single candidate together. Because some members of all three parties are retiring. Therefore, all of us leaders will sit together and make a decision.” After this statement, political movements within the Maha Vikas Aghadi have gained momentum.

Raut further stated that he recently had a discussion with Sharad Pawar. “I asked him if he would contest the Rajya Sabha elections again. To this, Pawar Saheb clearly stated that he is in the position to contest this election again,” said Raut. He also noted that Pawar's presence in Parliament will be important due to his parliamentary experience of over 60 years.

It is said that discussions are ongoing in the Maha Vikas Aghadi among the three parties: Congress, Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction). Raut informed that Pawar has also communicated his stance to Congress. Therefore, a final decision on this matter is likely to be made in the coming days. Meanwhile, another issue has caused a stir in the state's politics. An incident has come to light where the Anti-Corruption Bureau caught a clerk red-handed in the office of the state's Food and Drug Administration Minister, Narhari Zirwal. Reacting to this, Raut demanded that Zirwal resign on moral grounds. “The ministry office has been sealed by the ACB, which is a serious matter,” he said.

Due to all these developments, the political atmosphere in the state has heated up. On one hand, efforts are underway to align the equations within the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the backdrop of the Rajya Sabha elections, while on the other hand, the pressure on the ruling party seems to be increasing due to corruption allegations. Now, the political circles in the state are focused on what the official decision of the Maha Vikas Aghadi will be regarding Sharad Pawar's candidacy, as well as what the next steps will be in the Narhari Zirwal case.
