Shashikant Shinde Criticizes Government on MHADA Housing Irregularities
(Shashikant Shinde) Alleging that large-scale irregularities are ongoing in MHADA, affecting ordinary citizens, NCP (Sharad Pawar group) MLA Shashikant Shinde made this claim. He demanded an investigation into the entire matter in the Legislative Council, asserting that MHADA houses are being bought and sold at higher prices. Shinde said that many suggestions are made by the opposition, but the ruling party ignores them. He stated that the absence of an opposition leader in both houses is a serious issue.
Accusing the state of increasing crime, Shinde said the government should fulfill its promises of loan waivers. Advertisements show the government working rapidly, but in reality, the crime rate has increased. Many girls are going missing, and there is no concrete response from the government. They demanded that the Home Department take responsibility for this. They also stated that due to political interference, the administration has weakened, and no action is being taken on online crimes. However, action is taken immediately against the opposition, they alleged.
While speaking on the Anil Deshmukh case, Shinde said that the report of the committee investigating the allegations has not yet been released. They were arrested solely on the strength of power. Despite years of service, they have been wronged, he said. Stating that the accused in the Santosh Deshmukh case have not yet been caught is a failure of the Home Department, he noted that it is serious that no action has been taken even after a year.
Finally, many officials in the state are acting arbitrarily and there is widespread corruption. Ministers should control such officials, and if necessary, transfer them to enforce discipline, demanded Shashikant Shinde.
