MNS leader Amit Thackeray has outright refused to accept the notice from Nerul police who arrived to serve it in connection with the case of inaugurating the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj near Rajiv Gandhi flyover in Nerul without permission. “I will not accept the notice at home, if needed, I will personally go to Nerul police station,” due to this stance, the police team is waiting outside Shivtirth.

Nerul police station has filed cases against Amit Thackeray and about 70 others for violating the ban on gatherings, organizing events without permission, and damaging public property. A few days ago, Amit Thackeray personally went and 'inaugurated' the statue in Nerul, which had been closed for four months. Following this, the process of action against him began.

This morning, the Nerul police team arrived at Shivtirtha to deliver a notice. However, the process was stalled as Amit Thackeray clearly refused to accept the notice. “I will not take the notice at home; if you need anything, I will be present at the police station,” he informed the police. Subsequently, police officers were seen waiting outside Shivtirtha.

Meanwhile, Amit Thackeray recently held a press conference to present his stance on the matter. “If my first case is for Maharaj, then it is a matter of honor for me,” he said. He accused that despite local citizens making efforts for months to open the statue, it was kept closed. “The leaders who were free to go to the airport and Dahi Handi for four months did not find time for the statue's inauguration. So, I did the inauguration myself,” he clarified.

Also, if the administration tries to cover the statue again, they firmly stated, "We will remove that cloth again." Speaking about the police, they said, "Let the police do their job. They are under pressure from above, so I will not blame them." Due to Amit Thackeray's stance of rejecting the notice, everyone is keenly watching what legal steps the Nerul police will take next.
