MSRTC: Ganesh devotees hit by ST fare hike; Direct 30% increase in ST group reservation amount
As Ganeshotsav is just a few days away, the ST Corporation has disappointed travelers. To reduce the losses of the ST Corporation, a 30% increase has been made in the group reservation fare of ST. Due to such a decision being made right before Ganeshotsav, the people of Konkan are upset. Every year, millions of devotees travel to Konkan for Ganpati.
However, this year, news has emerged that Ganesh devotees traveling by ST are facing a significant impact due to the fare hike in ST. This year, there has been a direct 30% increase in the group reservation amount for ST. This has led to an atmosphere of dissatisfaction among passengers. It is said that this decision was made with the aim of reducing the loss of the ST Corporation. Against this backdrop, the group reservation board has also issued a warning to protest. In group reservations, a total of 40 passengers book one ST.
In the past few years, the number of passengers traveling by train and ST has doubled. However, now with the arrival of Lord Ganesha just a few days away, passengers are angry due to the sudden decision made by the ST Corporation. The return journey of the buses is usually empty. Therefore, to cover the expenses during that journey, this decision has been made by the corporation. As a result, passengers with a ticket costing 100 rupees will have to pay 130 rupees.
This has angered various groups making group reservations. In this regard, a warning of protest is being given by these people after meeting with the ST Corporation. Will there be any positive changes in the coming period? A decision on whether there will be a reduction in group reservation prices is likely to be made in the next two days. It is important to see what decision the state's Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Transport Minister make in this regard.
