NCP Politics : Sunetra Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister, change in power, entry in Delhi? Parth Pawar to go to Rajya Sabha?

After the tragic plane crash death of the state's Deputy Chief Minister and NCP's senior leader Ajit Pawar, a significant void has been created in Maharashtra's politics. Against this backdrop, Sunetra Pawar is set to take the oath as Deputy Chief Minister today. The entire state's attention is focused on the swearing-in ceremony to be held at Raj Bhavan at 5 PM.

After Sunetra Pawar takes the oath as Deputy Chief Minister, her seat in the Rajya Sabha will become vacant. It is believed that Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, is almost certain to be named for this vacant seat. According to sources, positive signals have also been received from the BJP's central leadership regarding Parth Pawar's name. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that Parth Pawar will be appointed to the Rajya Sabha.

Meanwhile, rapid developments have been taking place in the Nationalist Congress Party for the past two days. On Friday afternoon, heavyweight leaders of the NCP—Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, and Dhananjay Munde—arrived at Varsha Bungalow to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In this meeting, the proposal for Sunetra Pawar's name for the Deputy Chief Minister's post was made, and a demand was made to keep important portfolios with the NCP.

Today, Sunetra Pawar is likely to be elected as the leader of the NCP legislative group. After the oath-taking, she will join the cabinet. It has also been clarified that she will contest the Baramati assembly by-election in the future. The Baramati seat has become vacant due to the untimely demise of Ajit Pawar, and the Election Commission will soon announce the by-election schedule.

Along with this, discussions have also started regarding the national presidency of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction. Although Praful Patel's name is being considered, a large section of the party insists that Sunetra Pawar should be given this position. The demand for the Pawar family to hold the reins of the party is gaining momentum. Meanwhile, there is information that discussions are also underway about the possible merger of both NCP factions. Legislators and MPs are expressing the view that the party should be strengthened and the Pawar family should come together, with political analysts suggesting that Sharad Pawar's role will be decisive in this matter.
