Uddhav Thackeray Takes a Dig at BJP: "BJP’s Overloaded Ship Will Sink, Ours Won’t"
In a sharp political swipe ahead of the upcoming local body elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray declared that the “overloaded ship of the BJP is going to sink,” while expressing confidence that his own party’s ship will stay afloat. The remarks were made during a key meeting held at Sena Bhavan in Mumbai.
During the gathering, which was attended by senior party leaders, Thackeray directed members of the Thackeray faction to intensify their outreach across Maharashtra in preparation for local elections. The meeting focused on strengthening grassroots connections and energizing the party base.
Taking aim at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Thackeray quipped, “Amit Shah is the head of three parties — including those of Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde.” The statement underscores Thackeray's criticism of the BJP’s alleged control over allied parties and ongoing political maneuvering in Maharashtra.
“Power comes and goes, but we do not want to disappear after coming to power,” Thackeray added, emphasizing the need for long-term public trust and stability in leadership.
With political temperatures rising ahead of the polls, Thackeray’s comments reflect growing tensions between the rival factions and signal a more aggressive campaign strategy by the Shiv Sena (UBT).
