Sanjay Raut : ‘The Commission gave sesame seeds to the ruling party’, Raut's anger over the campaign period
A major political controversy has erupted due to the decision given by the Election Commission even after the official campaign period ended in the backdrop of municipal elections in the state. As voting is scheduled for tomorrow, January 15, the commission has allowed door-to-door campaigning until 10 PM today, January 14, which has led to intense anger among opposition parties. Especially as there are open allegations of money distribution against the ruling party, this decision has raised questions about the role of the commission.
Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut has directly attacked the Election Commission over this decision. "The commission has given sweets to the ruling party today," Raut criticized, expressing suspicion that despite the end of the campaign period, the rules are being broken to give the ruling party a different kind of justice. Referring to incidents of people distributing money being caught and beaten, he also said that the 'beating program' will continue throughout the day.
Raut criticized the BJP and Shinde faction, saying, “These people cannot win elections without the Hindu-Muslim issue and money. They do not succeed without abusing power.” Against this backdrop, the Thackeray brothers have given a sensational claim of “ordering to hit wherever seen.” He also made a sarcastic remark that today is like the commission giving a ‘donation for Lakshmi Darshan’.
Meanwhile, the issue of the irrigation scam has come back into discussion, and Sanjay Raut has responded to the allegations made by Ajit Pawar against the alliance government. Challenging them to 'take names directly instead of using coded language,' he accused such language of being indirect blackmailing. Raut also demanded clarity on which leaders from the Ganesh Naik or Shinde group would go to jail and for what reasons. While the atmosphere is heated ahead of the elections, the controversy seems to be escalating further due to the Election Commission's decision.
