Panvel Mayor: The Mayor of Panvel to be Decided on 'This' Date, BJP Alliance Preparations in Final Stage

The decision for the post of Mayor of Panvel Rural Municipal Corporation will be made on Tuesday (10th February). A special meeting will be held at 11 AM at Phadke Theater for this purpose. The meeting will be chaired by Thane District Collector Dr. Shrikrishnanath Panchal. Nomination forms for the selection of Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be accepted on 6th February from 11 AM to 3 PM. Any councilor can apply for the post of Mayor.

The BJP alliance has secured a clear majority in the municipal corporation with 59 councilors winning. This includes 55 from BJP, 2 from Shiv Sena, and 2 from NCP. Nitin Patil has been selected as the group leader from BJP.

As the position of city secretary is vacant, this responsibility has been given to Nanasahab Kamathe. Since the administration's affairs are going to the ruling party, it is being discussed that BJP will announce the name for the mayoral post in the next few days. Currently, the names of Mamata Mhatre and Nitin Patil are considered to be leading.
