Swine Fever and Swine Flu – What Exactly is the Difference?
Swine fever is a disease that only affects pigs.
It has no effect on humans.
However, it is advised to avoid eating meat from sick pigs.
The disease has also entered Sakuri village.
In Sakuri village, due to unnatural deaths of pigs in the past few days, samples were sent for testing. After the lab in Bhopal confirmed the samples as **positive**, a veterinary team has arrived in the village. With the cooperation of the Gram Panchayat, the campaign to dispose of the pigs is now being conducted more rapidly.
Appeal to Citizens
The Animal Husbandry Department has clarified that this disease is not dangerous to human health. However, if sudden deaths of pigs are found in the Sakuri area or other villages in the district, it is requested to immediately inform the veterinary officers, as stated by Assistant Commissioner Mukund Rajale.
