A new chapter has begun in the governorship of Maharashtra. The current Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, has been given the additional charge of the Governor of Maharashtra. The position became vacant after former Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan was elected as the Vice President. Subsequently, President Droupadi Murmu issued an official order assigning this responsibility to Acharya Devvrat. Today, Justice Chandrashekhar of the Mumbai High Court administered the oath of office and secrecy to Devvrat. Notably, he took this oath in Sanskrit.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and other dignitaries were present at the oath-taking ceremony. Acharya Devvrat arrived in Mumbai from Ahmedabad yesterday with his wife Darshana Devi. He has always been in the news for his simplicity and spiritual lifestyle.

Acharya Devvrat has been the Governor of Gujarat since July 2019. Previously, he served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 2015 to 2019. His administrative experience and scholarly perspective are the reasons he has been entrusted with responsibilities in Maharashtra as well.

Originally from Rohtak, Haryana, Devvrat is deeply influenced by the thoughts of Arya Samaj and Swami Dayanand. Before becoming a governor, he worked as a principal at a Gurukul in Kurukshetra. Promoting natural farming is his goal, and through his efforts, the country's first natural agricultural university has been established in Gujarat.

Now, as Acharya Devvrat manages responsibilities in both Maharashtra and Gujarat, everyone is focused on how important his experience and working style will be for the administration of both states.
