‘Kaanta Laga’ Fame Actress Shefali Jariwala Passes Away at 42, Entertainment Industry in Mourning
Shefali Jariwala, widely known as the ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl, passed away late last night following a sudden heart attack. The 42-year-old actress breathed her last at Bellevue Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, after being rushed there by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi.
According to initial reports, Shefali, a resident of the Lokhandwala area in Andheri, experienced severe chest pain around 11 p.m. Parag immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival. Her body has since been sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The news was confirmed by senior film critic Vicky Lalwani through his Instagram page. Lalwani stated that Parag Tyagi had brought Shefali to Bellevue Hospital, but she passed away before doctors could begin treatment. Attempts to contact hospital head Dr. Vijay Lulla were unsuccessful, as he declined to comment on the matter. However, another doctor, Dr. Sushant, later confirmed Shefali’s demise. There were no prior reports indicating that Shefali had any serious health concerns. In fact, just three days ago, she had reportedly participated in a photoshoot, appearing healthy and active.

Born in Ahmedabad, Shefali rose to fame in 2002 with the remix music video of ‘Kaanta Laga’, originally from the film starring Asha Parekh. While the video also drew controversy, its popularity cemented her place in the entertainment industry.
Shefali later went on to appear in several music videos and television shows. One of her most notable appearances was in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 13, where she was praised for her candid and strong personality.
