The administration has rejected the requests made to avoid transfers and has ordered not to grant any extensions, not to cancel transfers, and to strictly implement the decision.

This action is being taken under the Maharashtra Government Employees Transfer Regulation and Prevention of Delay in Government Duties Act, 2005. According to rules 3 and 4 of this Act, it is mandatory to transfer officers and employees who have completed 6 consecutive years of service at the same place.

This rule will apply to officers and employees in the positions of Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Section Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Clerk-Typist, and Stenographer in the ministerial cadre under the General Administration Department. Instructions have been given to make proper arrangements to ensure that departmental work continues smoothly. Additional secretaries have also instructed to take care that the transfers do not hinder the work of ordinary citizens.

Overall, due to these transfers taking place in April-May 2026, significant changes are expected in the ministerial work of the state. It has been appealed that the concerned officers and employees should be prepared for the transfer and comply with the orders given by the administration.
