“Will Make Mumbai Adanistan!” Uddhav Thackeray's Direct Attack on the Ruling Party
Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray held a joint press conference at Shiv Sena Bhavan on Sunday and announced the manifesto for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. This manifesto, prepared by Shiv Sena, MNS, and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, was presented under the name “Shivshakti Manifesto.” During this time, both Thackeray brothers strongly criticized the ruling BJP.
Uddhav Thackeray, mentioning industrialist Gautam Adani, targeted the BJP. He claimed that if the BJP's mayor comes to power, Mumbai will be transformed into 'Adanistan'. He also criticized the BJP on the issue of Marathi and Hindu mayors. Referring to the situation in Uttar Pradesh during the Corona period, Uddhav Thackeray said that Fadnavis should answer whether the bodies floating then were Hindu or Muslim. He also alleged that the proposed Marathi theater hall, Marathi language building, dumping ground, and worker rehabilitation project near Worli Dairy, which he had proposed as Chief Minister, were canceled.
While promising to implement new schemes for women, Uddhav Thackeray said that women in Mumbai will be provided with employment along with financial assistance. Accusing the BJP government of moving the financial center established in Mumbai to Gujarat, he announced a new financial center for Mumbai. Raising questions on the election process, Uddhav Thackeray expressed doubts about the role of the Election Commission. Accusing a scam of three lakh crores, he said that the BJP is not providing justice to Marathi people and Hindus. At this time, Raj Thackeray also made a witty remark, asking if all questions should be asked in a single press conference.
