(Beed Santosh Deshmukh Case) The bail application of Valmik Karad, the main accused in the murder case of Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district, has been rejected by the Sambhajinagar bench of the Mumbai High Court. The hearing on this application had been ongoing for the past two days.
A case has been registered against Valmik Karad in connection with the murder of Santosh Deshmukh. He had filed an application for bail in the Mumbai High Court in this case. After the hearing on this application in the court, Valmik's lawyers argued on his behalf. The lawyers stated that the MCOCA (MPDA) law has been wrongly applied to him. Also, Karad has no connection with Deshmukh's murder, as according to him, he was hundreds of kilometers away on the day of the incident. He has been implicated in this case, the lawyers said.
The government lawyers presented their side on this argument. Government lawyer Adv. Amarjitsingh Girase presented a detailed account of the incident. This included details of witnesses, mobile phone communication report (CDR), CCTV camera footage, audio tape transcription, and forensic laboratory report. Considering all this evidence, the court rejected the bail application.
