Voting for the general elections of 29 municipal corporations in the state will be held on Thursday, January 15, and the entire administrative and election machinery of all municipal corporations, including Mumbai Municipal Corporation, is ready. The administration has informed that all necessary preparations have been completed to conduct the election process in a peaceful, transparent, and fearless environment.

Special precautions have been taken for the Mumbai municipal elections, and at least one 'Pink Sakhi' polling station has been set up in each ward. The specialty of these polling stations is that the entire management will be done by women. Police officers, security personnel, election staff, and polling officers will all be women. This concept has been implemented with the aim of providing a safe, easy, and reliable environment for female voters. The administration has appealed to voters not to bring mobile phones to the polling station on the day of voting. If a mobile is brought for essential reasons, it must be kept completely switched off. These rules will be strictly enforced to ensure that there is no obstruction or malpractice in the voting process.

Special teams are operational under the authority of Divisional Assistant Commissioners in each administrative department to effectively implement the election code of conduct. A static surveillance team has been deployed at specific locations, keeping a strict watch on the illegal transportation of cash, liquor, narcotics, and weapons. Additionally, a flying squad will patrol the entire division for inspections, and immediate action will be taken against those violating the code of conduct.

In the backdrop of the elections, additional police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city. The situation will be continuously monitored through CCTV cameras, drone surveys, and the control room. The administration has urged citizens to exercise their right to vote fearlessly and to actively participate in the democratic process without succumbing to any pressure or temptations.
