As February begins, there is a noticeable increase in temperatures in many parts of the country, including the state. The weather department has warned of a rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next four to five days. As a result, citizens are experiencing the heat at the beginning of February.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cold wave in North India is now gradually decreasing, while the influence of hot and dry winds is increasing in Western and Central India. This is directly affecting the temperatures in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Marathwada, and Vidarbha. In the first week of February, the minimum temperature in many places has been recorded above average. Notably, the effect of cold has reduced due to the increase in night temperatures, and the intensity of heat is felt in the morning and afternoon. As there is no possibility of rain in the next five days, the weather will remain drier. Therefore, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the impact of rising temperatures is likely to be more noticeable.

According to weather experts, this change in climate can affect agriculture, health, and daily life. Increasing temperatures may stress crops and exacerbate water scarcity issues. Additionally, special care is advised for young children, elderly citizens, and sick individuals. From a health perspective, rising temperatures can increase the incidence of heatstroke, dehydration, headaches, and fatigue. Therefore, citizens are urged to drink plenty of water, avoid going out in the sun, and consume a light diet.

The maximum temperature in many cities of the state has already reached around 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of further increase in the coming days, indicating that summer may start early this year. Therefore, it appears that the onset of summer is being felt in February itself. According to the forecast given by the meteorological department, citizens are advised to remain alert for the next few days and plan their daily routine considering the changing weather.
