Water Cut in BKC on April 8: Supply to Be Disrupted for Pipeline Work

Residents and offices in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area are advised to brace for a temporary water cut on Tuesday, April 8, due to urgent water pipeline work being carried out by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The interruption is necessary as the 600-inch diameter Tulsi water pipeline located at Bandra Cabin, Bandra East, in the H West Zone, has become obsolete. The aging pipeline will be decommissioned and replaced, prompting a temporary suspension of water supply in the BKC region.

Timings and Precautionary Advisory

According to BMC officials, the water supply will be disrupted between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 8. In some locations, intermittent low pressure may continue until 10:00 PM.

As a precaution, the civic body has urged residents to store adequate water in advance and to use water sparingly during the outage. Furthermore, the BMC has recommended that citizens filter or boil drinking water for the next 4 to 5 days, citing potential disturbances in water quality following the pipeline work.

Improvements Expected Post Completion

Once the work is completed, the water supply in the H East Division—which includes parts of the BKC area—is expected to improve significantly. The BMC has assured residents that this is part of a broader effort to upgrade the aging water distribution infrastructure across the city.

The Municipal Corporation has appealed for public cooperation during the repair work and has emphasized the importance of following safety and conservation measures to minimize inconvenience.
