Ajit Pawar Clarifies on Ashadhi Wari Funds, Rains, Corona, and Ahmedabad Plane Crash
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar addressed a range of pressing issues while speaking to reporters in Pune today, including Ashadhi Wari fund allocation, the monsoon situation, the rise in COVID-19 cases, and the Ahmedabad plane crash.
No Diversion of Wari Funds, Says Ajit Pawar
Refuting allegations about misallocation of funds, Ajit Pawar firmly stated, “We have not diverted funds from any account.” He added that a list of Warkaris participating in the Dindis has been prepared and the promised funds will be deposited directly into their accounts soon. He emphasized that proper planning for Ashadhi Wari is ongoing, with meetings held at various administrative levels.
Pune Monsoon Response and Traffic Solutions
Commenting on rain-related problems in Pune, Pawar said, “The Pune Police Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner have reviewed the situation. Necessary and timely steps are being taken.” Addressing Pune’s traffic and road congestion, he mentioned the launch of a special online mobile app to help citizens navigate and manage travel efficiently.
COVID-19: Rising Cases, Ongoing Vigilance
On the rise in COVID-19 cases, especially in Kerala, Ajit Pawar assured that precautionary measures are already being implemented in Maharashtra — particularly in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. “Corona is discussed in the Cabinet every week,” he noted, urging citizens to also remain alert and follow health protocols.
Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Relief and Investigation
Referring to the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Pawar stated, “The Prime Minister has personally visited the site. Concerned ministers and officials are working with investigative agencies to ensure a speedy inquiry. Support is being extended to the families of the victims.”
Electricity Bill Waiver for Farmers
Clarifying the government’s electricity bill waiver scheme, Pawar said, “Bills have been waived for agricultural pumps up to 7.5 horsepower and for small landholding farmers. Notices sent to owners of higher-capacity pumps are in line with existing policy.”
Ajit Pawar’s interaction today provided crucial insights into the government’s stand on several key issues affecting the public and emphasized transparency and preparedness across departments.
